    Abengoa SA engages in the provision of technology solutions for sustainability in the energy and environment sectors. It operates through the Engineering and Construction and Concession-Type Infrastructures segments. The Engineering and Construction segment includes management of solar thermal plants, hybrid solar-gas, conventional generation and biofuels, hydraulic infrastructures, including large desalination plants, and electric transmission lines. It also develops solar thermal technology, water management technology, and innovative technological businesses such as hydrogen and the management of energy crops. The Concession-Type Infrastructures segment operates power generation plants including solar, cogeneration, and wind; desalination; and transmission lines. The company was founded by Javier Benjumea Puigcerver and Jose Manuel Abaurre Fernández Pasalgua on January 4, 1941 and is headquartered in Seville, Spain.
